Old pieces of furniture are always very attractive when we talk about quality, longevity, and durability. A few days ago, I found a beautiful piece on Facebook which I guess, was as old as 1930.
This amazing piece got my attention at first sight and I was greatly impressed by the art and history beyond it. Actually, a lady was selling it on Facebook and she was a little bit nervous and worried that the buyer would slap some ugly paint on it and the furniture would lose its commendable credibility and specialty. But, when I contacted her, I assured her that I would never do such an awful thing to such an alluring piece of furniture. I promised that the highboy would never be painted as long as I am the owner.
I contacted the seller to make arrangements for sale and pickup. I tried to pick up this piece as early as possible but, unfortunately, nothing was working out. The lady was gracious enough to hold it for me until the end of the day.
I am never good at identifying the types of wood used in furniture these days but the woodwork of this furniture is extremely beautiful and eye-catching. All the drawers hold the classic dovetail joints and this beautiful piece of furniture also holds wooden wheels which is a rarity these days.
This piece of furniture is almost 90 years old has remained solid and durable even after all these years and contains some excellent craftsmanship that can never be replaced.
